Recommendation
  1. Considering climate and cropping pattern of different regions of Maharashtra it is recommended that the technical norms for construction of shednet houses prepared by four Agricultural Universities should be followed (2008).
  2. 2. It is recommended to grow cabbage (Cv. Golden acre) under field condition in lateritic soils of Konkan region with 0.8 PE water depth through micro sprinkler and 120 per cent RD through WSF to get the maximum production and returns (2009).
  3. It is recommended that watermelon (Cv. Namdhari 295) be grown under field condition in lateritic soils of Konkan region with 0.6 PE water depth and 100 per cent RD through WSF through drip irrigation with black mulch of 25 micron to get the maximum production and returns (2009).
  4. It is recommended to grow broccoli (Cv. Ganesh) under protective cover i.e. shade net house recommended for Konkan region coupled with 1.0 PE water depth through 4 lph i.e. 0.38 and 0.41, 0.48 and 0.55, 0.55 and 0.67, lit/plant/day for the first and second fortnight of September, October and November respectively and 120 per cent RD through WSF in equal split at every week through drip irrigation to get the maximum production and returns (2011).
  5. It is recommended to grow coloured and green capsicum under protective cover i.e. shade net house recommended for Konkan region coupled with 1.0 PE water depth and 120 per cent RD through WSF with drip irrigation in equal split per week to get the maximum production and returns (2011).
  6. It is recommended to grow kohlrabi (Navalkol) under protective cover i.e. shade net house recommended for Konkan region coupled with 1.0 PE water depth through 4 lph dripper i.e. 0.57 and 0.56, 0.50 and 0.64, 0.72 lit/plant/day for the first and second fortnight of December, January and February respectively and 100 per cent RD through WSF in equal split at every week through drip irrigation to get the maximum production and returns (2011).
  7. It is recommend banana (Cv. Grand Naine) to grow on lateritic soils of Konkan region with planting density 1.75 m x 1.75 m with 0.6PE level of irrigation, that is 8.50, 6.54, 7.55, 7.29, 6.88, 7.77, 10.16, 10.62, 10.81 and 8.45 lit/plant/day for the month of September, October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May and June, respectively and 120 % RD through WSF level of fertigation in ten equal doses for getting the maximum benefits (B: C ratio) (2011).
